Villa Martinazzi is a renovated rural farmhouse with accommodation for 8 and a private pool. Nestled in the Umbrian hillside surrounded on all sides by its own land, with fantastic views over the valley towards the Appenines in the distance – it provides perfect seclusion and tranquillity.

With its generous sleeping accommodation (including 3 bathrooms, 2 ensuite, and 1 separate toilet) it is a perfect setting for a family holiday or a trip with friends. Martinazzi mixes traditional Italian crafts and materials but with all the conveniences of modern living (including, laundry room with washing machine, iron etc dish washer, DVD and CD player, central heating) everything you could need for a relaxing and care-free holiday.

Laze in the sun beside your own private pool or relax in a hammock in the garden and spend balmy evenings eating outside under foreign stars watching the fireflies.

If you feel the need for more stimulation, you can visit nearby towns famous throughout the world for their architecture and art, Cortona, Assissi, Perugia, Arezzo, Sansepulcro, Gubbio and Siena are all within easy reach.. You can take the train to Florence for the day, or discover for yourself one of the smaller hilltop towns, each with its own different surprise in store; a perfect restaurant, a faded fresco, or just sit in the local square and watch local Italian life.

Perhaps you would prefer a boat trip to one of the islands on Lake Trasimeno for beautiful walks and lazy picnics, or take home a piece of Italian style by visiting the monthly antique market in Arezzo or the Prada outlet store.

Transport
Martinazzi is 2 1/2 hrs from Pisa and Rome by road and 40 mins from Perugia. There are frequent flights to Pisa, Rome, Perugia, Bologna and several other convenient airports. The nearest mainline train station is 40 minutes away which connects with Rome and Florence.

Booking Costs
May to September (pool open) £1,600 per week
Rest of the year £1000 per week (except Christmas and New Year)

Minimum one week’s rental. Reservation will be confirmed on receipt of booking agreement & 25% non-refundable deposit. Final payment and returnable security deposit of £100 due 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Please note
A car is essential as the property is about 15 minutes drive from the town of Umbertide where you will find all amenities, banks, Post Office, internet, restaurants, supermarkets and individual shops, plus a weekly market.

In cold weather, wood for fires is provided but central heating is payable extra by prior arrangement. Towels, linen and hairdryers are provided. Cleaning before and after included in price (save in exceptional circumstances). Linen changed weekly.
